Re: Nominations for 2021 BBA Board Vacancies

Dear Member in Good Standing:

As Secretary of the Bankruptcy Bar Association of the Southern District of Florida (the “Association”), it is my responsibility to send you the Nominating Petition for this year’s board member elections.  You should refer to the Association’s By-Laws if you have any questions about election procedures.

The following offices are open for election:  President Elect, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.  Each officer serves a one-year term. Three director positions are open for election:  two At-Large Directors and two Fort Lauderdale Directors.  To qualify for the Fort Lauderdale Director seats, the candidate must practice primarily in the Fort Lauderdale Division.  Each director serves a three-year term with one exception, however.  One of the Fort Lauderdale Director seats is for a limited one-year term to fill a vacancy.  Therefore, if you are running for a Fort Lauderdale Director seat, please indicate on your nomination form whether you are running for the traditional three-year director seat or the one-year director seat.

If you are interested in serving as an officer or director for the Association, please sign the Nominating Petition, have same signed by at least five (5) members in good standing of the Association (which signatures do not include your own), and promptly return the completed petition to Ross Hartog

By mail:
Markowitz, Ringel, Trusty & Hartog, P.A.

By e-mail: rhartog@mrthlaw.com

Nominating Petitions must be received or post-marked on or before Monday, March 15, 2021.

We are also pleased to announce that the Association will again be conducting this year’s election by means of an online voting platform.

Thank you,

Michael Lessne
