Bankruptcy Attorney Jerry M. Markowitz Receives Executive Star Award From The Coral Gables Chamber

Bankruptcy Attorney Jerry M. Markowitz, co-founder and managing shareholder of the law firm of Markowitz, Ringel, Trusty + Hartog, has received the 2016 Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce Rising Star Award in the Executive Star Category, which recognizes professionals who have built a successful career with an organization/corporation and who demonstrate excellence in the community.

Markowitz is one of South Florida’s leading business and bankruptcy reorganization law practitioners and mediators. He is currently ranked in Chambers USA, is a 2016 Best Lawyer and was named to the 2015 Top 100 Florida Super Lawyers list and to the 2015 Top 100 Miami Super Lawyers by Super Lawyers Magazine. Active in the community, Markowitz is a member of the Board of Directors of the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI), regional co-chair of the ABI Endowment Fund and co-chair of the ABI Mediation Committee. He is a former president of the University of Miami Law Alumni Association, a founding member of the Bankruptcy Bar Association for the Southern District of Florida and a former co-chair of the ABI Southeast Bankruptcy Workshop. In 2015, Markowitz received Lifestyle Media Group’s Leaders in Law Award in the Bankruptcy Law category. In 2013, he received the Thomas Davison, III Memorial Service Award from the University of Miami Law Alumni Association, for outstanding service to the law school.
